Suad Saliju

Food Supply Chain Management
Born in North Macedonia, Suad has academic and practical experience in Economics and Finance. He completed his B.Sc. in “International Economics and Financial Markets” at the University of Trieste, in Italy. Subsequently he enrolled in the “M.Sc. in Economics” program at the Friedrich-Alexander University (FAU) in Nuremberg where he specialized in the fields of Finance, Macroeconomics and Energy Markets. During his studies, Suad also worked as a student research assistant at the Chair of Economic Theory at the FAU University and Energie Campus (EnCN) in Nuremberg. His contribution during this time was, among others, in assisting and developing models for sustainable energy markets (renewable energy, CO2 emissions) with a focus on social welfare (production, transportation and consumption).
As of May 2021, Suad is part of the Team at the Food Supply Chain Management Chair at the University of Bayreuth, working as a research assistant and pursuing a PhD. Being a highly aware person of food origin and a gourmet, his research focuses primarily on creating sustainable food supply chain networks, local/regional food supply chains and horizontal collaboration in food supply chains.
