[Publication] Can digital food platforms faciliate regional supply?
The influence of digital logistics platforms on the supply with regional food for the hospitality sector and communal catering was investigated by our colleague Christine Mendoza Pardo in collaboration with Prof. Dr Christian Fikar. Causal loop diagrams were used to visualize the dynamics which occur within regional food supply. The data used came from the literature and from two pilot regions. The results include that digital logistics platforms can help to increase communication with each other and organize logistics more efficiently and can therefore have a positive impact on the amount of regional food in the hospitality sector and communal catering. In addition, cooperation and trust also play a decisive role in successful regional food supply. The article has now been published in The International Journal of Logistics Management.
